AMOCO (vidéo, 2000, 14 min.)
A still image of an Amoco gas station is projected in slow motion and accompanied by diverse sounds which seemingly have no connection to the visual. The nearly immobile image of the gas station becomes the surface of an imaginary projection that the spectator constructs and deconstructs according to the associations he makes. This process is interrupted by an electronic voice that reminds the spectator of his position outside of the image. Un plan fixe sur une station-service Amoco est diffusé au ralenti en même temps qu’un accompagnement sonore, issu d’un montage de sons divers n’ayant aucun lien avec le visuel. Presque immobile, l’image de la station-service devient une surface de projection imaginaire que le spectateur construit et déconstruit en fonction des associations. Ce processus est parasité par une voix électronique qui rappelle au spectateur qu’il est placé à l’extérieur de l’image. |
