Ghosts 2003 - 2005, installation (50 ceramic sculptures, video loop) At the back of the room a suspended monitor, transmitting a succession of images, gives out an unsteady light which falls on a group of ceramic sculptures placed in the space. The subliminal images (24 images per second) are made up of drawings and photos cut out from newspapers. The hybrid forms, strewn over the floor and animated by the stroboscopic light, roughly echo the shapes of the press clippings. In this disturbing and almost timeless atmosphere the artist once again exhibits information which has been distorted and transformed. Au fond de la pièce, un moniteur suspendu diffusant une succession d'images renvoie une luminosité instable sur un ensemble de sculptures en terre cuite posées ça et là dans l’espace. Les images montées de façon subliminale (24 images par seconde) sont constituées de dessins et de photographies découpées dans la presse. Les formes hybrides qui jonchent le sol, ainsi animées par cet éclairage stroboscopique, rappellent grossièrement les formes des découpages. Dans cette ambiance perturbante et quasi atemporelle, l’artiste expose une information une nouvelle fois déformée, métamorphosée. Clay modelling : Christina Christensen & Jan Kopp
